The AI of this game made it so that some units still continue to fire even after the enemy have reached melee and the repeater crossbow manage to load another full volley before they engaged in melee killing 48 riders total while the repeater cross bow unit only lost 4 person. The suppression ability completely stopped the charge only killing 4 out of 240 units in a direct charge on open field. At lvl 10 my repeater crossbowmen was able to take out 30 out of 60 of the shock trooper before they reached us. I also put them to the test against the militia shock troopers.

If my theory is correct then the crossbow repeater has the highest fire rate and ammo in the entire unit roster.ДЄlso I finally saw the effect of the suppression which gives -33% fire rate, -500 charge bonus, -25% charge speed, -33% attack rate to anyone hit. At lvl 10 the repeater cross bow can shoot at 120 meaning its shooting at 4 times the speed of archers at lvl 10. This means in reality 6 means its shooting rate is actually at 48 and ammo of 96. This also applies to ammunition since it's 1 clip not 1 arrow. 1 volley for archer is 1 arrow per person while 1 volley from repeater is 8 arrow per person. If my theory is correct then the fire rate is the numbers of 'volley' they can shoot not how many arrows per minute.

I did some test and I noticed that the repeater cross bow shoots 8 times before it reload. I had both units shooting at each other and for some reason the archers ran out of ammo first despite having 18 more ammo than the repeater crossbow. Despite the fire rating is set at 6 it was able to out shoot archers at 15. I went through some custom battle and I think I found something is wrong with the unit description. If you don't want to read all of it then skip to the last paragraph. If you have access to Falconry, that opens up some WIS-based builds too.After doing some test I think I might have found something interesting. All of these builds are primary INT, and all of them can do trapping. If you want a pure free-to-play build, then you're probably looking at 14 Rgr/6 Rog - that's got a little self-healing, Sniper Shot, evasion, int-to-dmg in Mechanic, and IPS autogrant (though you cant totally ignore DEX because that's your to-hit stat).

Both Arti builds also give you Endless Fusillade, which is full-auto mode for repeaters and is probably the most ass-kickiest thing in the game :) My two top-notch repeater builds are 12 arti/6 rgr/2 rogue, which gets you evasion and Sniper Shot, the best attack for repeaters, along with +1 Crit cond is 9 Rgr/6 Fig/5 Arti with Harper, which also gets you evasion, Sniper Shot, +1 Crit Range and +1 Crit Mult too, but sacrifices some Arti levels which makes your casting and runearms less effective. That requires 19 Dex, so you either need to have a whole lot of dex in your build (base+tomes+level ups, not gear), or you need to have 11 levels of Ranger to get it automatically.ДЄrti provides a lot that helps repeaters. The last thing you need is a way to get Improved Precise Shot. Those are scattered around enhancements in various places, usually in cores or T5s. The second thing you really want in a good repeater build is a source of +1 Crit Range and +1 Crit Mult. The other option is if you have Falconer, you can build around Wis instead. That means you need to either be Rogue 6, Arti 6, or have the Harper tree so you can get INT-to-dmg on RXBs and be able to decent damage. The main problem with repeater builds is that repeaters have no innate source of stat-to-dmg, which is pretty much required in the game right now. Artis are a premium class though so you'll have to buy or unlock them, if that's what you meant by paying. Repeaters are best used by Artis and Rangers, and a few other fringe builds. What do you mean 'paying for the mechanic'? You mean the proficiency, or the Mechanic enhancement tree? Mechanics shouldn't use repeaters anyway, they do much better with Great XBows after they get the T5 enhancements.
